Our Team:
Rachael Costner, Publisher, Sales and Marketing
Rachael Costner has over 20 years of experience in marketing and advertising. She earned her BA degree from San Diego State University. Washington has been her home since 1984. Early experience introduced Rachael to publishing and book design at SDSU. Later she dove into retail marketing and design with a local Northwest Agency. Today, Rachael owns an advertising and marketing firm - Sands Costner & Associates.
Sands Costner is a full-service advertising agency, located in downtown Tacoma, that strives to build brand with energy and unending creativity. Her team currently has two full-time designers, a full-time new business development director and office manager/accountant. Rachael serves as President and Creative Director. Her passion for connecting people and resources has been the driving force to keep the Women's Resource Directory in circulation and growing. Rachael is proud of her two sons who fill the remaining hours of her life.
Cathy Bennett, Accountant
Cathy brings to WR over 20 years of business ownership experience. Above and beyond the daily accounting and financial
management, Cathy brings to our team the entrepreneurial spirit with the backing of business sensibility that helps us daily while we continue to grow, add different venues and keep our vision for success. Cathy keeps our financial vision in check and in line with planned growth. In her spare time she loves to camp and cruise with her husband and friends.
Mitzi Black,
Assistant Event Coordinator
Mitzi is instrumental in assisting with all Women's Resource events, especially our monthly BNT's and our annual JazzyJune event. She is always there to share her enthusiasm about WR and it's mission. Mitzi has a passion for people and flowers (she's also owner of Chambers Bay Floral, a private design studio specializing in events). Mitzi is a loving wife, mother and proud grandmother of three wonderful little peanuts.
Carrie Case, Event Coordinator/Production Manager
Carrie, a graduate of WSU (Go Cougs!), provides the creative spirit and energy each day to make it all happen. She manages the website content and development for WRBDonline.com, keeps our events runing smoothly, and our associates informed and on target. Carrie is an avid cyclist, stamper, nature lover and does a lot of volunteer work for the National MS Society. She has a wonderful husband, beautiful baby girl, fluffy Bischon named Buddy, and another baby human on the way.
Lauren Powloski, Events Team Assistant
Lauren, the quiet one of the bunch assists with anything event planning. She joined our team as an intern and quickly became a part of our permanent team because of her hard working spirit and tolerance of the rest of our personalities. She
is whatever the team needs her to be. From designing ads and emails, to
assisting with BNTs, JazzyJune and event planning, to answering phones,
she is simply here to assist where assistance is needed. A graduate of Pierce College, she enjoys coffee, spending time with her boyfriend and experimenting in the kitchen with cupcake baking and decorating.
